At Kenny's Academy of Barbering and Kenny's Barbershops, we’re not just about cutting hair—we’re about creating opportunity, fostering growth, and empowering the next generation of barbers and entrepreneurs. Through hard work, dedication, and the support of mentors, we believe anyone can turn their dreams into reality. When our students graduate, they possess a balance of haircutting skills and a professional image. Kenny’s Academy of Barbering teaches cosmetology and barbering according to the Indiana State Barber Board guidelines. With over 40 years of instructor experience, Kenny’s Academy of Barbering is dedicated to preparing students to become professionals.
Our History
1988
Kenny's Barbershop Inc. is founded.
1992
Kenny's Academy of Barbering first opens.
1999
Community Fellowship Chrisitian Ministries is founded, Gregory Kenny Sr. becomes an ordained minister.
2011
Kenny's begins its annual "Holiday cuts for Hoosiers."
2014
Kenny's Academy becomes a NAACAS appointed accredited institution.
2015
Our founder Gregory Kenny Sr is appointed by Governor Mike Pence to sit on the Indiana State board of Barbering and Cosmetology.
2020
Kenny's Academy launches a hybrid model of online and in person barber training.
2025
Kenny's opens a location in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
